I forgot to mention that I successfully perfomed an epidural yesterday. It's quite a hair-raising process - you have to stick a large needle into the spinal canal, and then inject 4mls of morphine and local anaesthetic. The potential for harmful f**k-ups is quite great too. It was the first one I'd ever done, and it felt great when I got the needle in the right spot first time; better still when it became apparant that it had worked properly :)

I've just been to compline for the eve of Charles Stuart, King and Martyr. Very nice service, and it was a good excuse to get out of the vet school for a bit. Once I've finished writing this it'll be back to the vet school, and then to bed. Today has been very idle anaesthesia-wise, but I've made pretty good progress on my talk (a handout for which can be found here). Tommorow I start the morning pretty early with another Mastiff for a TPLO, then hopefully I'll have much of the afternoon off for finishing up my talk. Alas, it looks like being a long day for Ops, so I may not be able to have visitors, which would be a bore :(

Still, only 2 nights to go. Which is good - I'm getting fed up of hut and my fellow-hutties in almost equal measure.
