davefish and keris, where we met many lovely people, today is Ash Wednesday. I attended the Liturgy of Ash Wednesday at the Cathedral, a little unsure of what to expect (as there had been Mass and imposition of ashes at lunchtime). It was a very good service - they even got the incense out! The congregation wasn't huge, but that meant I got a good view. The sermon was interesting, but I didn't entirely agree with it (which is probably healthy). I am left, however, wondering if there are any other settings of Psalm 51! All in all, an entirely appropriate beginning of Lent.
