Voice course; odd after-effects

This afternoon, I went on a 3-hour course about using your voice more effectively. There were some interesting exercises and pointers, although I'd would have preferred more criticism, and less being told my voice was great (the tutor only did this to me, which was a bit irritating). I have a booklet of exercises and warmups, which will be of use in the future, I suspect :-)

Oddly, now when I hum, I get a fundamental tone, too. From D below middle upwards, when I hum I can fairly strongly hear the octave below sounding too. Very strange - has anyone else observed this after doing voice exercises?

I'm sure all voices have harmonics. I've a theory that this is how one blends when singing with someone else (it explains why some people can't sing together). One modifies the harmonics 'to fit', though I've no idea how, you just do it.

So your exercises have perhaps intensified your lower harmonic, or maybe you're just more aware of it.
