System Profiler reported a vendor ID of 0x0557 and product ID of 0x2008. Accordingly, I edited Info.plist for ProlificUsbSerial.kext (setting them to 1367 and 8200), kextloaded it, and got /dev/tty.usbserial. Joy! Sadly, reading from it results in no data ever (and indeed a hung dd if=/dev/tty.usbserial bs=1.

So, I booted into Ubuntu, and tried lsusb -v, which reported 0x067b and 0x2303. Those are 1659 and 8963, the values originally in the kext's Info.plist(!). I think I'm even more confused now.

Ubuntu and the wireless card still won't play ball.
