The new year party, hosted by j4 and Sion was very good, despite Radio 4 failing to provide bongs. Things I remember include an annoucement (go them!), a drunken conversation with vyvyan about linear A, steve and lark_ascending ticking each other on the kitchen floor, andrew music-narging, finally seeing MBM (it's been ages), discovering that a 29" corset might actually suit me, some very nice smoked salmon,...

Wednesday, angoel, Mark and Pete came round for lunch, and stayed for a couple of hands of scrabble; in the evening, pete stayed for a takeaway, and colin joined us for more scrabble, and several hands of canasta (until 4am).

Yesterday, I did even more laundry, bought cow for sunday lunch, went to the thursday evening pub-meet. The Carlton Arms now has comfy chairs in the lounge bar, and is very nice indeed (it used to be a shithole before the new management). People then came back for coffee and a short bit of canasta (until 4am again!).

Today hasn't been very productive. RMSS will be happening tonight, so I need to finalise the plot before then. Tommorow I must battle through floods to Oxfnord for a TS committee meeting, then on Sunday I'm doing roast lunch for Foundation+Anke+MarkW, which is a bit of a daunting prospect. I have 4 1/2 lb of sirloin on-bone, which should hopefully be a good tasty joint.
