Life is hectic at the moment. There's something going on just about every day, which inevitably means difficult decisions have to be made about what I actually do.

[livejournal.com profile] atreic is a very very early-morning person. This is interacting badly with my need to actually be awake at work, but hopefully we can sort this out over the next week or so. I just can't afford to only ever be functionally working for half of every day.

Rough weekend plan is [livejournal.com profile] senji's birthday and a reception at Queens' today, Abigails Party at the Arts Theatre tommorow, followed by Methsoc squash, followed by a Ceilidh. Sunday plans are Chapel followed by Methsoc first main meeting, and hopefully then a nice gentle afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] atreic

Adrian is a late night person, and I used to be a morning person. Sadly, 3 years of living with a night person has made me unable to get up in the morning most days, but I have to stay way past when I want to go to bed. I am sleepy much more often now than I used to be. My friend Elena has it the other way rounnd: her ex-husband made her get up early when she's really a night person, and she now can't sleep properly either. My point is, work out which of you needs to be most awake and then work on their schedule. The other will be screwed :(. Although I'm just beginning to wonder whether its not a feature of getting old: I used to surbvive on hardly any sleep and now I feel like I'm never getting enough.

I'm the same as you, if I lived on my own I'd sleep 10 till 7, whereas Matthew keeps me up til the small hours and then is surprised that he's tired when I get up for a nine am lecture at 8. :-)

I suppose we'll work it out. But I'm amused that he thinks a 7.40 alarm is very *very* early (he should have seen my 5am revision days)

And I have to be awake for lectures, else I won't get a phd, and he has to be awake because he has a phd to do. Sigh, compromises :-(

I believe he has seen some of my 5am revision days. Not that I got up at 5am those days...

I used to think an early alarm was somewhere around 5:30. Now i shudder when the alarm is set for 7 ;) However, Adrian is doing a Japanese course 3 days a week now, which means he wants the alarm set for 7:30 (my preferred time for getting to work) and then I get to get up on time without him complaining how early the alarm is. Finally ;)
