Okay, that didn't work as well as I'd hoped. By 9.40am I had managed to get all the necessary software installed, but unfortunately the sound which finally arrived was horribly distorted. I almost certainly need more bandwidth, although I might point out that the BBC seem to manage.

How were you trying to listen? The java-based player should work without any additional software (and seems to be happy right now)...

I followed the link you provided, then pushed the button marked "listen". Nothing happened, so I tried installing Firefox and pushed the button again, after which I was advised I needed a certain plug-in, which I then installed, after which I heard music, but distorted, as I said, as if playing from a scratched CD.
