Happy All Saints' Day, everyone!. LSM is doing a sung service at 7pm which I'm going to - do feel free to join me :) Similarly, there's a Requiem tommorow at 7pm for All Souls', which I also intend to attend...

Funny, that. I walked past LSM this morning and thought 'I'd like to go to Mass tonight'. Guess I'll see you there, then!

I really must come and visit LSM again one of these days, but it'll take more than five hours' planning, I fear...

was Fr Andrew in charge when you were going there, or was it Fr Owen then?

I confess I don't actually remember the name. I've always been bad at names, and a lot of memories from before I had ME seem to have fallen into a black hole. If I saw a photograph, I could tell you - I still have an image of him teaching me to serve. I used to serve at the Thursday morning Mass. I went for the first time in 1988 and was a regular from early 1990 to mid-91, if that helps, and I remember Fr. Nigel's ordination and Fr. Peter and Mrs Chamier. Is she still around, by the way?

yes, it would have been Fr James Owen who was the incumbent then. Fr Andrew arrived in july/august 1994 (we celebrated his 10 years as incumbent along with his 60th birthday back in august).

mrs chamier is indeed still very much around; i had a long conversation with her only yesterday evening.

She was always very kind to me, and continued to write for a couple of years after I left.
