I read from this article that Ivan Noble, the BBC Science writer who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumout back in August 2002 is now too sick to continue writing - that article is something he'd written in advance as a signing-off. He'd had a relapse just before Christmas, and presumably is not much longer for this world.

If you've not read any of his columns, then I suggest you do. Not out of morbid fascination, but because his courage, tenacity and patience is genuinly inspiring. He has shared the ups and downs of his fight with cancer over the last two and a half years with great candour. I'm not sure there's much I can add to his own words, really. All that is left now is to pray for a peaceful and dignified end.

*Nods* I saw that this morning and have been feeling sad. I've been following his diary since the beginning.

I've been following his columns over the months as well. I'd not yet seen this one, though, and now I'm in tears.
