Matthew's Journal

It's been a busy few days. On Friday we travelled to gnimmel and purplepiano's wedding, set in a lovely little manor house about an hour's drive from Cambridge. It's always good to see friends getting married, and the happy couple looked both splendid and very happy. There was a lovely dinner and ceilidh, too.

Saturday was very lazy - I played some more angband (now 3rd-place on the table), and did the shopping before going to sonicdrift's house-warming. There I lost at croquet, and won at boules, as well as eating some excellent dead animal, and avoiding the eeevil chocolate fountain.

Yesterday we were due to go to Kenwood for a last night of the Proms-style concert with R and sain_bano; the closure of KX station made the logistics a little more complicated, and I had to dash to catch the Liverpool Street train, but we got to London in time, had a gentle lunch in Finsbury Circus, and then had a quick look in the British Museum (which I've not been to since the courtyard was re-opened) before heading to Hampstead. The concert itself was quite fun, and the rain held off until we were cycling home, so all good.

Today, I'm at work. This means I can feel virtuous even if I don't have a hugely productive day :) I'm still working on re-factoring my code to the new interface, which looks like it'll be pretty good. Since there's no climbing today (walls all seem to shut on bank holidays), I'll be pizza-ing for once.
