...that are the department's Friday Morning Seminars. First one of the term, today. Expecting people to be in for 8.45 on a Friday always seems cruel to me!

But the upside is you should be able to leave/go to the pub early as a result? Isnt the pain worth buggering off for the weekend a little early. I do agree its cruel if you arent a morning person.

I wish our 8.45 department meetings had that rider built in! After several years of campaigning, I got them abolished six months ago, but there are rumours that they are about to be reinstated.

We've had a few compulsory departmental ones that go from 4:30-5:30 (if they are lucky to finish on time). I just dont go unless I'm not exhausted or dont have anything else pre-arranged. I doubt any of us have clauses in our work agreements that specify we must start or finish by a set time.

I've been doing it most Fridays for the last 19 years ...

And I couldn't be in late this morning, despite having a totally unplanned lie-in, as only yesterday I told off one of my menials for poor time-keeping!
