I am *so* out of practice at the moment. The recorders are still fine, as I've been doing enough ceilidh-playing over the last few years to keep them in shape, but both the euphonium and the 'cello are really bad at the moment. It's quite hard to keep motivated to try and work myself back into being able to play them. Still, I seem to be making some progress, and the neighbours haven't complained yet!

I must try and find a ceilidh band to play with (or a recorder group, I guess).

This is why I said you should come and play instruments. :) IME it's more motivating to hack through a piece with someone else and get (at least bits of) it sounding like Proper Music than it is to keep banging away at it on your own. Even if it's easy pieces. And I have a piano, and like accompanying (though I'm pretty rusty at that too).

Just sayin'. :)

I can sympathise with you, as I've been trying to get back to playing the piano. After a few weeks of feeling my hands actually aching after the exercises, I was very glad to find out one day that they didn't anymore and that I can play them quite fast again.

Keep going. You will get back into being able to play your instruments, but only if you keep on persisting, motivation or no motivation.
