Today I mowed the lawn, with my own lawnmower. This is something of a first, since I mowed the lawn at my parents' place a long time ago - in Empire, we had to borrow Greenend's lawnmower, Foundation's landlord looked after the garden, Rivendell didn't have any lawn, and neither did Weathertop.
It was curiously satisfying, even if I did have to miss a bit, owing to not having an outdoors-suitable extension lead...

My voyage into the great Lawnmower-Owning Democracy goes something like this...
Step 1: buy secondhand lawnmower
Step 2: cut front lawn
Step 3: wonder why it's started cutting out
Step 4: obtain and fill lawnmower with more petrol
Step 5: wonder why it's still cutting out
Step 6: clean air filters, spark plugs, change oil etc
Step 7: wonder why it's still cutting out
Step 8: take magneto apart
Step 9: wonder why it's still cutting out
Step 10: take carburettor apart
Unfortunately I haven't found time for step 10 yet, and the grass has started growing again!
