[livejournal.com profile] atreic and I headed to Cambridge this weekend, to go to [livejournal.com profile] olithered and [livejournal.com profile] aiwendel's wedding. [livejournal.com profile] arnhem kindly offered us crash-space, and indeed provided a taxi service, thereby ensuring good weather :-)

The wedding was held in the Unitarian church in Cambridge, which I'd not been to before. It's a cosy little place, with wood-panelled walls. If you want to know what the sermon was like, you can find it online here, which I think is pretty cool :) I've not seen a blue wedding dress before, but [livejournal.com profile] aiwendel looked lovely in hers, which was a pale sky-blue. Both bride and groom looked very pleased with themselves, which is how it should be. Congratulations!

After dinner, there was a ceilidh, which we also went to. Many people I don't see very often, which was grand, even if one of them (who shall remain nameless) thought my research fellowship was in theology :) The dancing was pretty good, and I got to be cute+couply with [livejournal.com profile] atreic when we did Rosza. I legged it a little before the end, however, to get to a party marking Dr [livejournal.com profile] covertmusic and Magister [livejournal.com profile] antinomy. I think the party had peaked before I arrived, but it was fun nonetheless.

Yesterday started with LSM, where the sermon suffered a little from the fact that the bounds weren't going to be beaten after all due to rain. Then a split-venue Carlton pub-lunch, and the drive back to Coventry. I made dinner, and then we watched Kill Bill vol 2. A fun weekend, all in all.

I have the evenings to myself this week excepting Wednesday, as [livejournal.com profile] atreic is working longer hours than usual in London, working for a minister. I presume the Cathedral may be doing special services for Ascension day (and maybe St Matthias), but their website is only telling me about last week (as it often seems to do). Grr.
