Word to the wise...

...don't ever have packages for both GRUB and LILO installed on the same system - it will only lead to pain, and confusion as to which boot-loader you're actually meant to be using.

The 2.2 -> 2.6 upgrade seems to have mostly worked

Why would there be? What if I want to boot my system using GRUB, but use LILO to install a boot loader onto removable media for booting a different system?
