As I mentioned earlier, I have a PhD project, and "just" need funding. Well, I still don't know if the project will get a grant (should know sometime next week), but the Wellcome Trust are being doom.

The appropriate thing to apply for would seem to be a Research Training Fellowship, which suggests that it's for veterinary graduates. The Queries bod however, thinks otherwise, but also seems to fail to understand how veterinary education works. It's now got to the point that our department's director of graduate studies (who runs a summer school for the Wellcome Turst) has waded in to the fray; given the immenent deadline for a preliminary application, this all looks a bit doom-like. Still, we'll have to see; I'm trying to keep getting the preliminary application on track whilst we argue...

What's the project? Have you read the funding issue of the Reporter?

Funding issue of the Reporter? Where that?

It's applying network theory to the UK sheep/cattle herds, to try and assess how things like the 20-day standstill are likely to impact upon disease spread.
