Dreamwidth question: paid community accounts and polls

I'm confused (or Doing It Rong) - I thought, per the FAQ on features of paid accounts that making a community a paid account would mean that the relevant community would "allow any member to post polls (community)".

So I paid some money to make a community ([community profile] ardgour) paid, but the not-paid-account members of that community still can't post polls (e.g. this support request). Given this is the only reason I paid DW money for that community this is a bid underwhelming. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Posting poll markup into the entry box has the desired effect (but isn't really very user friendly), so bug in the poll creator UI, maybe?

yeah this Should Work, I'm going to open a bug Right Now, but if you as community admin open a support request in Account Payments asking WTF and pointing to the other support req as well Denise will probably be able to do something useful. (The reason paid community accounts let everyone post polls is [site community profile] dw_suggestions, but obviously that's not... got the same frontend; I'm *really* not sure off the top of my head what's going on.)

I can't see the account payments cat but \o/

I'm in lab tomorrow and have had a G&T tonight so I'm not going to look at the code Right Now to work out why things are going wrong, but clearly they are and I'm mildly embarrassed nobody's noticed previously.

Another Ardgour-organising cycle swings round, and this is biting us again :-/
[yes, I know I could in theory try and make a pull request myself, but I don't know the code-base and don't really do perl either]

Ah, but now I find:

does work for [personal profile] herring, though it's not clear there's any way to find that URL without URL-hacking, IYSWIM. Also, only works for community admins, not members.
