Friday now. Jomsborg storytelling last night went pretty well, even if [livejournal.com profile] antinomy and [livejournal.com profile] senji didn't actually say anything. I'm quite pleased with the story we came up with.

I've managed to get a bit of work done, which is good; now I must write to [livejournal.com profile] deliberateblank, which is way overdue.

In other news, the Veterinary Officer at Whipsnade thinks my findings in the project might well be worth writing up in a short communication. Bit early to say yet, but I might finally be about to get a publication! :)

[livejournal.com profile] atreic and I are having dinner at the Galleria tonight, which should be fun, too.

Not really my kind of story, I'm afraid. But it was a fun evening.

half? half? :-)

Bah. Why can't I post subject icons any more? :(

There's a funny little greyed out smily thing by the end of the subject box.

Er, yes. But clicking on it does nothing. do I now need attack tools turned on just to select an icon or something stupid like that? :-(

If I click on it I get a bunch of icons to choose from. So yeah, looks like you need javascript or similar.

bah. I even have JS turned on!

...and indeed apparantly working, since I can drive the custom friends group interface, which is also JS. Is this a click-and-hold thing, or a click-and-release thing or what?

gaah. I *hate* webshite interfaces sometimes. What was wrong with the old radio buttons? :(

Click and release. Reading the source and knowing sod all about JS it looks like clicking on the icon should toggle whether a table of subject icons is displayed or not. And it works fine in this here mozilla I have here.

Mozilla 1.3 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312

I have to say I'm happy for them to be hidden, because I prefer not to use them myself for the most part, and they are pretty ugly especially en masse.

Well, I now have the popup box (having enabled popups from stat.livejournal.com), but I don't think the icon actually gets posted...

It does seem to have worked.

So it does. Bah, what a sucky interface. They really ought to document that fact :-/

Ah. Didn't work for me, then I turned off pop-up blocking and it works.

I don't think it's worth the effort. Indeed, the world is crap.

I don't have all of JS support turned on in my mozilla settings, but can't tell you which bits I do, because it crashes every time I try and open the Preferences dialogue box...
