I am also having a concern which I expect many people to find controvertial. I previously thought "intelligent but not person" idea from scifi was not really a valid concept. But although I agree current LLMs are not intelligent, I can just about entertain the possibility of a future version which works better with concepts not only words. Which might fit that niche. And if they existed I'm not sure how to think about their personhood.
