Is it actually illegal to drive without a rear-view mirror? Vans with opaque rear doors have to manage with just their wing mirrors, so if those aren't illegal then it's hard to imagine why an ordinary car with the same visibility would be more dangerous...

I'd certainly go for "ask a garage first", though.

It's illegal to drive without two of wing mirrors and rear-view mirror, so so long as you have both wing mirrors, that's fine.

I'd stick it back on with one of those ultra-strong sticky tabs.
