The main artifacts which provide acid immunity (i.e. complete protection from acid for you and your stuff) are the Trident of Ulmo (very rare), the Shadow Cloak of Tuor (less rare, but a bit deep for you atm), and of course the Small Metal Shield of Thorin (vital and wonderful item, fairly common to find after about level 40). Immunity to fire isn't available until you're much deeper (from e.g. Deathwreaker or Narya). All kinds of Armour or Shields of Resist X will themselves ignore X, and Cloaks of Protection and Aman, Dragon Scale Mail and Amulets of the Magi ignore all 4 basic elements. Mithril and adamantite mail, and shields of deflection also ignore acid. Of course this doesn't protect your other equipment from acid or fire. Jelly pits are probably just not worth it, really.

Blindness and confusion resistance are indeed really useful about now; aside from various artifacts which confer these, you should *Identify* any Robes of Permanence, Armour of Elvenkind or Cloaks of Aman which you find - these have a random high resistance (though it's usually something you already have or don't need...). Relevant colours of dragon scale mail also provide these resistances, as do a number of artifacts (mostly helmets for blindness e.g. Thranduil, Holhenneth, Dor-Lomin, Gondor; and body armour for confusion e.g. Isidur, Rohirrim, Caspanion). A few potions of CCW and staves of teleportation may need to tide you over until you find something permanent though.
