Friend of friend of friend.

Which is interesting as there is a friend of friend link.

(Hummmm, I wonder if anyone has tried running the whole six degrees thing over the LJ friend dataset. I'm sure someone must have.)

Huh. No...as in yes...so no you're not....as in yes you are. Oh dear, damn you double negatives!

Yes. You are a friend. [livejournal.com profile] emperor is the friend of friend (you).

But I didn't see his entry through your friends list. I saw it through the list of one of your friends. So came across the entry though as a friend of friend of friend rather than as him being tbe friend (fiance) of a friend.

Am I talking complete gibberish??!?

You not come across this, then?

[livejournal.com profile] new_brunette -> [livejournal.com profile] aldabra -> [livejournal.com profile] atreic -> [livejournal.com profile] nlj21 (3 hops)

It's even more interesting if you use the LJ random user search and look at the connections. You quickly see who the friends whores are who act as the supernodes in the network.

I've been wondering for a while about extracting the complete fiends relation from LJ (probably by asking nicely), and doing some standard network analysis on it. You could use memes as models of disease spread or something :)
