I tried to give a lead - however, standing next to Matthew meant that I was 0.5 sec ahead of people down in the chapel, so it was quite tough.

Argh; no criticism was intended ("proper" was, when writing that, a matter of numbers rather than quality, in my mind!). I'd have thought that "quite tough" was understating the challenge a bit.
