Ah. Apologies - on re-reading the thread on the Ship and Googling a bit, I see that I didn't quite get that right. Transfiguration as a feast day is in August, but the second Sunday in Lent has the story of the transfiguration as the Gospel for the day (or in some lectionaries apparently the Sunday before Ash Wednesday). Consequently, tons of sermons for that day take transfiguration as their theme. Perhaps that's the source of the confusion in the paper you were reading?
