[angband] Time to die soon...

This character is now 4th place, and as deep as I've ever been before, although noticably less tough than my previous character who was killed at this depth by an Ancient gold dragon on score 900918 after 3,034,800; my score is now 651887 after 2,503,600, so I'm lagging behind a bit.

Dlvl 40 is pretty scary, really. I keep having to run away! Still, I just took out Adunaphel the Quiet, who was quite a big fat kill.

See, when you get that deep you get all that really cool-looking stuff. I haven't yet got deeper than DL6 or 7, and then I tend to die embarrassingly. Clearly I haven't got the strategy right yet...

Level 40 is certainly scary without poison resistance! I'd be tempted to hang around there until stats max out, in the hope of getting something to provide that, before venturing much deeper.

And you're a mage, which means that as long as you keep yourself prophylactically hasted and temporary-rpois, AMHDs and drolems never get a second shot because you teleport them away. (A Dracolich will still own your pasty-white elven butt.)

So do you have it up all the time while exploring? Lots of characters die to off-screen drolems breathing poison at them, below level 40! I haven't played really since I won, but I remember being paranoid about going below 40 until I got poison resistance. Anyway, best of luck :-)
