Yep, that's the cool thing about Tarot. All the "occult powers" you need to determine your future are inside your own mind ... which makes them even more awesome really.

I used to do I Ching readings when I was worried about which direction I was going in, and I found that helped. The main problem I find with the Tarot is that my reaction to the cards can depend so much on the designs of the cards; there isn't so much of that kind of distraction with the I Ching. Must dig out the book and remind myself how it all works. There's a nifty way of doing it with coins rather than all that palaver with yarrow stalks, too.

That's what I like so much about the Vertigo tarot cards I've got; they're very abstract and figurative so they don't impose too much on my mind, and they're also taken from a 'mythology' I relate to, so I find them a good fit to my personality :)
