There are two sets of films of the books, the American ones being slightly more recent. The Swedish version has dpkg in it :-)

You have to go to all the effort of setting up your serial killer database first though :-)

There was quite a lot of obviously right tech in the Swedish version, it wasn't just dpkg used as something computery to have on screen, it was right in context.

Yeah, I'm aware of the Swedish version, but haven't seen it. Someone I know thought the Swedish version was no good.

The book is in my to-read ~~list~~ ~~pile~~ piles, so I can’t speak to how well any film may treat it, but I did enjoy the Swedish versions of the films.

The Swedish version of the first book is really really good (as a film; I haven't read the book so I dunno how faithful it is). In particular Michael Nyqvist is excellent. The second one is not as good but that could just be mid-trilogy syndrome. I haven't seen the third one yet.
