I have a recipe book (published in Crete, in an English translation) that calls for "baking pan (No 35)".

Despite a fair chunk of googling, I cannot find any indication as to how big a cake tin this might be. Anyone know?

Thanks :)

Oh is that the one that's a bit bigger than a baking pan (No 30)?

Sorry not a clue actually I just couldn't resist ...

Assuming you have a selection of tins, I'd make the thing, look at how big it is, and put it in a tin twice the volume of your mix (assuming it's a cake) or about the right size (if it's not a thing that rises)....

Alternatively, if you're planning on buying a tin specially, you could look on the net for similar recipes with similar volumes of ingredients and see what tin size they want.....

I think you need:

A little bit of Monica in your life,

A little bit of Erica by your side.

A little bit of Rita's all you need,

A little bit of Tina's all you see.

Baking pan (No. 35).

Somehow it *sounds* very obvious, even though I've no idea what it means :)

What a completely baffling description.

I have a pudding basin which is marked as 'size 36' and is 900ml by volume, 15cm by diameter. No idea if it's the same scale, though.
